My aims for this Paper.

It is my intent in this section to show that two verses describe the same key and that key is the hundred year period from April 2000 to March 2100. The basis of the key involves the motion of Polaris. I also intend to use Nostradamus' own words in the documents that accompany the Prophecies to illustrate how highly focussed are his goals and the ends to which these are directed.

I then want to show the verses that mark the trail to Nostradamus' three major mutations, namely Religion based Wars, Fire in the Sky, and Floods.

Very great change to life on Earth is the reason why Nostradamus felt obliged to present his prophecies to the world in a coded form. And the word mutation was his way of summarising his view of such change.

If I had drawn up events as they will happen the people of that realm, sect, religion and faith, would find it so bad that they would listen to fantasies and come to damn that which future centuries will know through seeing and perceiving.

Which has caused me to stospeaking to the popular [media] and putting pen to paper. But now I want to reach out and declare happenings of common interest through incomprehensible and perplexing sentences about future causes. The most urgent are those in which I perceive some human mutation and for which I must find a way that is inoffensive to the weakest ear so all must be written under a more nebulous figure than that of the ancient prophets. 1555 Cesar Preface (PCE2)

 Because of their significance it was essential that such changes should be accurately dated and this is what takes place in the verses based on either words or anagrams with mutat as their root.

2000 to 2100 CE time of Nostradamus' Great Mutations

Stars in Aries 2000 CEThe precision of Nostradamus' wording must always be taken into consideration when evaluating his meanings and in the two verses that follow doing so clears the way for determining the date.

So C1 Q51 L1 (The head of Aries, Jupiter and Saturn) doesn't necessarily say Jupiter and Saturn at or in the Head of Aries. Instead it may well relate to a set of conjunctions occurring simultaneously starting at the Head of Aries. 

With this in mind the first line of C1 Q51 becomes a good starting point  since unlike the first interpretation it's timing is readily identifiable.

And this mechanism of a visible astronomic format is what Nostradamus constantly asserts he used in his two prefaces to the Prophecies.

So I have dedicated my nocturnal and prophetic calculations, which are composed out of a natural instinct, accompanied by a poetic furore rather than in accord with the strict rules of poetry. And in the most part they have been composed and are in accord with astronomical calculations... 1558 Epistle to Henry (HEE6)

Easter 2000CE with Jupiter and Saturn at tail, Mercury & Venus at head.

There are a very limited number of occurrences of words or anagrams based on the root 'mutates'. Two non-trivial anagrams for mutation are present in Nostradamus but one of these also includes an anagram of 'mutates'. All normal variants of the root have been sought and are shown in this page. Quatrain C10 Q90 holds one additional variant which extends a true anagram for mutation to become mutational. There are only five verses holding all these occurrences.

Consider the anagrammatic message in line three of C1 Q51 which is given below (anagrams formed by regrouping letter clusters below original text). When doing so notice the ease with which the message is formed and how, once the message is known, it has the ability to make sense of the obscurities in Nostradamus' visible text.

Note: Alignment only occurs in one other verse and Polaris occurs in five other verses.

A comprehensive message arises from the above which is I enclose Polaris route in close alignment to Polar rune sign. This fits closely with the cipher usage that I present in my section on astronomic ciphers in Nostradamus' Code.

There is no doub t that this distinctively astronomic verse contains a hidden message that is itself based in astronomy. And it is this coded message that prevents any ambivalence arising from Nostradamus' visible text.

This is of such import that Nostradamus continues this theme in other verses one of which is shown below.

   C1 Q54: On the geopolitical turmoil at the time of Polaris reaching its zenith.

Two revolutions made from the evil scythe
making a permutation of reign and centuries.
The mobile sign thus moves into its place:
At two [times] of equal worth and inclination.

Deux reuolts faicts du maling falcigere  
De regne et Siecles faict permutation
Le mobil Signe a Son endroict Si ingere
ux deux egaux et d'inclination.

In the current era Polaris is currently the most mobile constellation of the so-called fixed stars as it is is changing its ascension and declination angles rapidly and this justifies a title of the mobile sign given in the visible words of the third line which says The mobile sign thus moves into its place.

In March 2105 CE Polaris will be at its closest point to the spot where the imaginary Celestial North Pole is placed. This occurs around Easter and it signifies the end of Polaris' ascent to the Pole.

It will be over 25000 years before it will once again be as close to the pole. March 2105 CE therefore represents one of the rare moments in astronomic history since it ushers in a Great Mutation of the cycles of the skies.

And the two verses given above contain the other astronomic setting that is required to mark out the century which Nostradamus states is the duration of such [great] mutations.

Of the infrequent occasions when Saturn and Jupiter have been close together in Aries the celestial events of 2000 CE are the most noteworthy. On the 30th of April 2000CE the sun was in close alignment with Polaris while Venus and Mercury were in close alignment with the stars at the head of Aries and Jupiter and Saturn were in close alignment with the stars at the tail (see image at start).

NOTES on the rarity of occurrence of Jupiter and Saturn in Aries and their placement over the last 2100 years :

Since both planets mentioned are slow moving the times when they are close together in the same part of any nominated zodiac sign are separated by 854 years (approximately).

 For instance they were conjoined in the head of Aries in 114CE, 967CE 1821CE and Apr 1881 CE.

 However there are occasions when this varies since there is always a cluster of three or four nearby occasions where they conjoin in different parts of the same zodiac sign; then they may appear in a different part of the sign such as the head and tail of Aries at intervals of about 120 years.  By this variance additional conjunctions occurred in 233CE and 1086CE as well as in the year 2000CE. On the latter date it took place as the two planets changed their abode and left Aries for Taurus. 

And there are a limited number of other variances brought about by the slow drift in position over each 854 year period. This led to occurrences in 1821CE and 1881CE.

It is also for this same reason that we find an appearance in Aries tail that is 120 year before 114CE in the year 06BCE, the year that many scholars use as that of the birth of Jesus Christ.

However the period of appearances is generally 120 to 180 years and then a long period of over 650 years where no conjunctions take place.

Again this interpretation of the verses hidden message  fulfills Nostradamus' text since the changing of the millennium in 2000 and the changing role of the Polestar in 2100 represent the two changing revolutions that are separated by a century (as in above verse line 1 to 4).

By the above means I am able to give the two verses a rational and logical calendary meaning by referring them to the astronomic events of  2000CE, 2100CE and 2105CE. 

 

The Mutations on which Nostradamus Focuses.

In each of the two prefaces that Nostradamus included with the two different publications dates of his Prophecies in 1555 and 1558 he clearly sets out what his works were meant to focus on.

Later because of the increased commonness of their happening I decided to give way , and by abstruse and perplexing sentences, tell of the causes of the future mutations of mankind, especially those of popular interest, and the ones I perceived, and in a manner that would not upset fragile sentiments.

All had to to be written under a cloudy figure, above all things prophetic.

I have mixed therewith no divination coming from fate. All from God and nature. It is much like seeing in a burning mirror, with clouded vision, the great events, sad, prodigious and calamitous events that in due time will fall upon the principal worshippers. First upon the temples of God, secondly upon those who sustained by the earth, approach such decadence. Also a thousand other calamitous events which will be known to happen in due time.

There are three verses which have hidden anagrams for mutations and their content is critical in defining each of Nostradamus' Great Mutations. In order to present their material it is important that I firstly give some principles I believe guide Nostradamus' work.

There are some absolutes that I see determining the great mutations for mankind and I believe that as a successful prophet Nostradamus would have reached the following view.

  • Time is on the side of eternal truth in the battle of science versus dogma.

  • In any contest with its creatures Nature eventually wins.

  • The individual's long term future lies in its seed.

  • Society's future requires that man's institutions don't become Nature's foe.

  • Nature has a higher claim upon the Earth than man.

In every age man judges what he deems important and strives towards its end but man's efforts are a sideshow, a fleeting ghost in the larger span of evolution. Of man's struggles it is only that which is in balance with nature that will endure. 

This view of the world can be seen in Nostradamus' own words 'Those sad, prodigious and calamitous events that will fall upon those who sustained by the earth, approach such a decadence' (quoted from above Epistle extract). From our real-world knowledge of our time there can be no doub t that ever-growing population is becoming an attack on nature.

And Nature, in order to right the balance, will respond as it always has through the increase of naturally occurring infestations and by modifications to that species ability to successfully reproduce.

Man's current dilemmas reflect an imbalance of this type. In failing to face the limitations of a finite planet and to live in balance with nature, climate change, pollution, diminution of biodiversity, poverty, and increasing famine, flood and disaster set our inevitable destiny. Nature's response is knowable even if unacknowledged; the human seed will be mutated, the ability to breed will fall; and institutions that depend on and foster population growth will wither. .

Thus the inevitability of unstoppable change is likely to be what Nostradamus meant by 'great mutations' as distinct from revolutions and temporary horrors whose significance only seems universal to those close to it. 

It is highly probable that what many see as Nostradamus' focus is but a device for retaining attention.

Hitler, the French Revolution and numerous others are not likely to be amongst the great mutations. Such topics are purely the popular-interest events, the  thousand other calamitous events which will be known to happen in due time, that Nostradamus said he would include to ensure his tale of the mutations would survive .

The three verses in Nostradamus' Prophecies that hold anagrams of MUTATIONS will helconfirm that the above comments are critical in understanding Nostradamus' themes.

 

The First Verse (CI Q95) containing mutation Anagram- Religion based wars

    C1 Q95: Account of Paraclete lineage underpins the re-creation of Jesus as a clone.

In front of a monastery will be found a twin infant
from the illustrious and ancient line of a monk.
His renown by his sect's language and power.
So that they will say his strength overwhelms his twin .

D'heroic Sang de Moine et vestutisque

Son bruit par Secte langue et puiSSance Son
Qu'on dira fort
eSleue levopiSique.

The key to the above verse evolves through the same method as I use for the analysis of all verses, namely there is a dominant message through the verse that ties in to a cipher hidden in the anagrams of the verse.

The element that distinguishes this verse is language and power (L.3 ). The hidden word Paracletes is found as par Secte la (parSectela) in the same line and this name is the key to the visible text as well as the mutation that is part of the hidden text. This cipher, Paracletes,  is also backed by the anagram of aScenSionS (iSSanceSon) at the end of the same line. 

Paraclete  which is a name given by the apostle John to the Holy Ghost is notable for its properties of speaking in tongues and it is said to hold many powers. So this word fits Nostradamus own statement and yields its full import.

The Holy Spirit is also involved in the ascension of Jesus which also binds the story at both levels. These two key words are very rare in Nostradamus' text with both appearing together only in this verse and separately in three others (each)

This verse and those already presented highlight how clearly Nostradamus' Epistle of 1558 describes what he has done in the Prophecies:

"And for this [reason], Sire, by this discourse I present these predictions with confusion as to when they will be and the event involved for the enumeration of time that follows has no more than a little consistency in it..  Much that is superior is seen to be astronomical and is the same as in other sacred writings,  using both means I can not fail at all. If I had wanted I could have put the enumeration of time in each quatrain. I might do this but not all would appreciate it, not least those interpreting them. "

(NOTE: The term Paraclete/s provides an important cipher within Nostradamus' Prophecies. It appears on three other occasions. In Verse C5 Q6 L.3 (A la main gauche viendra changer le Sceptre) Paraclete lies alongside the anagram for Archangels.

Reading this verse it can be seen that it might fulfil the message given above whereby the angel traces the history of Jesus' lineage. In Verse C3 Q77 Paraclete is found as an anagram in the fourth line where both death and cross are used in Nostradamus' wording.

Equally as significant is that in the second line of this same verse is the only anagram of the word Pentecost.  I analyse these verses in more detail at the end of this discussion  but at present the foregoing shows why I have confidence the anagram of Paraclete is intentional and not a by-product of chance.

They indicate Nostradamus had a particular view of religion and how it would change and this is one of the three types of mutation that are the focus of Nostradamus' Prophecies

The second verse: C2 Q41- Fire in the Sky.

   C2 Q41: Evolution of the soul at the heart of the Prophet's code.

The great star will burn for seven days
The cloud will cause two suns to appear
The large mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff changes his terroir
.  

La grand estoille par Sept jours bruslera
Nuee fera deux Soleils apparoir
Le gros maStins toute nuict hurlera
Quand grand pontife changera de terroir.

The cipher that unlocks this verse relates to the cloud accompanying a burning star mentioned by Nostradamus in the first part of this verse. It comes from the lettering deux so which is an anagram of Exodus

21And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night;
22the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people. (Ex. 13:21-22)

This event in Exodus provides the historical allegory underpinning the second of Nostradamus' mutations. Exodus as an anagram only appears in one other line in the prophecies. In the above verse's line it forms a sequence which says Exodus.fear.50(L).or.ruin.applies . This ties in to a message in the next line where Luther is found as an anagram in the same line as the anagram for mutations. and together they form a complete sequence of anagrams which say So. Luther.unite.100(C).larger.mutations. Nostradamus' cipher now has both a past and a 16th C anchor point. 

These two verses do as Nostradamus says in regard to mutations, they tell us about the great events, sad, prodigious and calamitous events that in due time will fall upon the principal worshippers. First upon the temples of God.

We can also see that the first mutation applies to a sacred lineage from Christ, while the second verse applies to the manner the institutions of religion are harmed by events involving fire, dust, clouds and burning stars.

The second mutation harbours Nostradamus' predictions of the fiery nature of the events that  will impact on the great religions of the world.

 

The third verse: C10 Q90 - more on the above themes.

    C10 Q90: Inhumanity revealed as leaders order chemical attacks on their citizens.

A hundred times will the inhuman tyrant die,
In his place put one learned and mild
The entire Senate will be under his hand,
He will be vexed by a rash scoundrel.

Cent foys mourra le tyran inhumain
Mys a Son lieu Scauant et debonnaire
Tout le Senat Sera deSSoub z Sa main
Fache Sera par malin themeraire.

The above is clearly a verse about great differences in successive leaders. It is also apparent that it lacks any mention of religion or a religious figure so it forms a different class of mutation from the previous verse.

This is consistent with the end of Nostradamus' statement on his mutations in his Epistle ..First upon the temples of God, secondly upon those who sustained by the earth, approach such decadence. The key anagram for this particular mutation is also found in the hidden text. It is held in Earthmen (L.4..n themera) and this anagram occurs nowhere else in the Prophecies.

The theme of this verse is the nature of humankind and how its leadershiwill change towards more intelligent and gentler people than the tyrants that have dominated the past which makes Earthmen a very apt key. But this verse and Nostradamus' Epistle leave no doub t that the decadence of scoundrels and their sub version of their rule leads to the great mutations of mankind.

In this as in the other two verses there are many other anagrams that support the main cipher and in this instance  the fourth line of the current verse holds the following ominous sequences Alarm in theme (ar mal - in - theme) Fire reaches Earthmen (n themera - ire F - ache Ser).

I have little doub t that the ties between the mutation references left by Nostradamus in his Epistle and his Prophecies are intentional. If so they confirm the methodology I have proposed in my rules and lay the foundation on which the mutations and some of the thousand other calamitous events which will be known to happen in due time can be successfully resolved.

However the mutations that constitute the reason why Nostradamus bothered to write his prophecies are in full display in both his commentary and  his Prophecies; no more so than in the following passage:.

I find that letters will suffer a very great and incomparable loss. I find also that before the final conflagration the world will be deluged by many floods to such heights that there will remain scarcely any land not covered by water, and this will last for so long that everything will perish except the land-surface itself and its 'enographies' (depths). Furthermore, before and after these inundations, in many countries the rains will have been so slight and there will have fallen from the sky such a great abundance of fire, and of burning stones, that nothing will remain unconsumed.

It is clear from the above that vast floods accompany the other great mutations producing major transformation to the living space that Earthmen currently enjoy.

Nostradamus reinforces this theme when referring to the Great Pontiff changing his terroir, a wording that links to a change of the geographical conditions to which he has become accustomed. 

 

The Paths set by the Mutation Ciphers

It is apparent that Nostradamus' Prophecies fall into three streams of which the Mutation of Religion is one, the Mutation of the Earth's environment is a second and the Mutation of the Earth's people is the third. However each of these divides into several sub -streams. This pattern which has its basis in Nostradamus' guidance  has determined all my presentations.  

There are several  major branches to be followed and my other papers cover most of them and in so doing I use the same techniques as used in this paper. Their detailed stories make for melancholy reading but this is what Nostradamus tells us when he states:

Although the eternal God alone knows the eternity of the light which proceeds from himself, I say frankly to all to whom he has wished to reveal his immense magnitude, immeasurable and incomprehensible as it is, amidst long and melancholy inspiration, that it is a hidden thing, manifested divinely.
