Nostradamus C8 Q19: A gaseous debacle impacting on Fort Marseille.
Copyright: Allan Webber, December 2015
This is a peculiar verse that has an internal message with some
consistency but the manner in which this ties to the text and the themes
of the other prophecies remains obscure.
It is probable, from its use of
anagrammatic terms such as
Marseille fort (ort f -
amille ſer) and
blue sea (uble - e Aſ), that
it refers to events surrounding the building of the fort on the Isle of
If.
This small place was very prominent in Nostradamus' youth because of the
rhinocerus that was temporarily housed on the island.
It was this beast
that lured Francis I to journey here, at which time he envisaged it as a potential
fort.
The island is the smallest of three that form a triangle a few
kilometres west of Marseille.
