The anagrams in this verse transform a story of mediocre conflict into a religious struggle between different faiths within Europe that becomes the defining battle for Europism (ors mis peu ſ).

However this goes far beyond that between Protestant and Catholic differences and involves those arising from a return to pagan gods of the Germans, Greeks and Eastern nations.
